GDP MOD1 8" 5.56MM - Black (Pistol)

The Geissele Defense Pistol MOD1 (GDP MOD1) maintains the compact, lightweight and easy to maneuver characteristics of the Geissele Defense Pistol (GDP) while integrating a lower receiver with fully ambidextrous controls. In a package ideal for confined spaces and tight storage situations, shooters now benefit from features optimized for total control in the most dynamic shooting conditions. The GDP MOD1 utilizes the same intuitive layout used in Geissele’s Super Duty® MOD1-A and GFR® MOD1 rifles.

A magazine release on the left side of the receiver below the Maritime Bolt Catch makes mag changes swift for left-handed use. The right side of the receiver features bolt catch and release buttons below the ejection port. The shooter uses the dust cover to apply pressure to the bolt catch to lock the bolt open, and a release button just rearward easily sends the bolt forward. This instinctive system doesn’t just accommodate left- or right-handed use; it enhances mechanical flow under pressure. Reloads and malfunction clearances are faster and more consistent—critical when seconds matter. Whether on the move or on the bench, everything works in concert to meet real-world performance demands.

The dual-telescoping GDP MOD1 brace intuitively opens by simply pulling to the rear and can be deployed from its stowed position immediately and effortlessly. The brace has two solid-lock positions for deployment and requires the deliberate, but simple use of the trigger and detent mechanisms to collapse. The GDP MOD1 brace utilizes a sturdy Velcro strap for one-handed support that attaches with two ITW C.L.A.S.H. Hooks (Conventional Latch Attachment Snap Hook). The GDP brace design allows unimpeded access to all firing controls even when fully collapsed.

Reliability and shooting performance are at the forefront of the GDP MOD1 design. Utilizing the patented Geissele Phased Array® gas system, the GDP MOD1 is precisely balanced to optimize the 8” barrel length. Geissele Tri-Port® System works in concert with the monolithic bolt carrier buffer system and custom length Super 42® braided buffer spring to achieve surprisingly smooth and controllable recoil impulse. The barrel is Cold Hammer Forged and chrome-lined with a tapered profile, sporting the HUXWRX Flash Hider -QD 5.56 for easy mounting of the patented HUXWRX Flow series of suppressors.

The Forged Stressproof Bolt® is made from Carpenter 158+, directly developed with Carpenter Steel metallurgists to create a material that is cleaner and has less impurities. This makes the  Stressproof Bolt® stronger and more fatigue resistant, capable of 5 times the life of a mil-spec bolt.

The GDP MOD1 features the proven controls and components Geissele is known for, including the SSA X® trigger, MK16 rail, Airborne Charging Handle, Super Configurable Safety, Maritime Bolt Catch, Antistrike Super Compact Gas Block and ergonomic A17 grip. The GDP MOD1 also includes Geissele’s new Super Hand Stop. This M-LOK hand stop features two index locations, allowing for both increased control and protection from the muzzle, making it ideal on a super-short platform like the GDP MOD1.
